3 days

If I can finish my last paper by thursday, then I can consider my undergraduate career complete on Thursday. That is such a relief. I can't wait to be able to come straight home after work and not have to worry about the reading or paper that I should be writing.

Over the last 2 and a half weeks I have spent a majority of my time writing the two most difficult papers I have ever had to write, One was difficult because it was a format that I was not used to. The other, was mainly because I disliked the teacher, and through thta dislike, the class. Most of all, they were probably difficult because of my strong case of senioritis.

Now I see the light at the end of the tunnel and I can only pray that the paper I finished this evening will be good enough to ensure a C or better. If not, then I will be saying bood-bye to freedom for 1 more semester and I don't think I could take one more.

Charlotte

Nona has been thinking about getting a pet for Gideon and trying to convince me. We finially decided to go to PetsMart today and look at the adoptable animals. I should have known that I couldn't come out of there without a pet of some kind... So we now are a family of five with Charlotte, a 4 year old Norwegian Elkhound mix. She is very friendly and loves Gid. They love to give each other kisses.

Wii

So I forked out a lot of money to Walmart and Nintendo on Friday to get a Wii and several games. This will be the first time that I have bought a console first hand, and only my third ever(PS2 and gameboy advance). I have been wanting to get one for a while now, but didn't really have the money for it. Sy has a PS2 game that he really likes and I think that Nintendo is more kid friendly and makes better games that all of us can enjoy. At least that is what I think, we will see if that is true. Anyway, we got several multiplayer games so it should be pretty fun to sit down with Sy and play.

So the last thing I said was that I was going to go to Video Games Live. I did. It was pretty fun. I really wish that I could have listened to the thoughts of the season ticket holders in the audience. The ones that were close to me applauded and even gave a standing ovation to Martin Leung when he played a Final fantasy 7 medley. I came away with a new CD and a shirt. My dad and I had a fun night together, which we haven't been able to do in a long time. Maybe we can spend some free time together playing on the new Wii.

Anyway, we should be getting all of our stuff between Friday and next Tuesday. Hopefully sooner than later. :0)

Video Games Live

I am going to see Video Games Live tonight with the Utah Symphony. I invited my dad to go. I am really excited and hope there are no stupid people there. Anyway, I'll have something to write about after tonight...

Concert

So tonight I took the night off from work to go with my wife down to Provo. We asked someone in our ward to watch Silas and Gid. Almost a year ago, Nona did a trade with a local musician. She wanted to be able to use his music on her site, in exchange she would give him a free portrait session. Well, he ended up using those pictures for his latest album. Tonight was the CD release party, and he gave us free tickets and a free copy of the CD. The musician is Benton Paul. If you haven't heard of him, I would suggest you look him up. He is on myspace, facebook, and has his own site as well.

I had a lot of fun. The music was really great. Yesterday, Benton's manager asked Nona if she would take some photos of the concert. She was a bit apprehensive at first, but had a good time with it in the end. Also, looking at the images so far, I think she did a really good job.

The opening act was John Allred. I was impressed and ended up buying his CD after the show.

So now I have even more good music to listen to. The past week has been really good for my ears.

...

I think I have a lot of pent up creativity inside, because my mind is going crazy thinking of things to write about. It really feels good to try to put my thoughts down and organize them in some manner.

Maybe it will help with some of my other frustrations, particularly not saying what I mean to say...

Foundation

As anyone that knows me can tell you, I love to read. I have boxes of books that I currently don't have a place for, but can't bare to get rid of them.

Growing up in my parents house was like living in a library. My dad even has a journal specifically for checking books and movies out so he knows where things are at all times. He seems to always have something lent out to some person or another. When I was little, my mom owned a book store. I am pretty sure that is how they were able to gain such a good supply of books, but they already had the desire to read and their library continues to grow without them owning a bookstore.

So I grew up enjoying books. I ended up reading a lot of science fiction and fantasy as that is what my dad had around that wasn't non fiction or LDS related. Most of it I wasn't able to read until I was older. The funner, less investing storylines were mostly what I read as a teen, though not always.

Shortly after I came home from my mission I began reading as much as I could. I think I read around 25 books during my first 2 or 3 months home. During that time I finally decided to read all the books in Isaac Asimov's Robots and Foundation series. I truely enjoyed the whole story line.

Several weeks ago I was sitting in my Statistics class thinking about how most of the stuff that is taught in classes like that, are things thta were discovered and solved centries earlier. It seems like there isn't much of that going on today. If there is, the common person doesn't know about it. We are oblivious. This led me to think about what happens when things are just being taught and nothing is is being solved, new issues being ignored.

After a minute of thinking on this, I realized that my thought came from my reading of the Foundation books. This is a cause for all that happens in these books. This got me wanting to read again.

So i am now reading one of the Foundation books. foundation's Fear was not written by Isaac Asimov. After he passed away, his estate let three prominant science fiction authors try to finish the story that Asimoc had created. They did a great job, but I am not sure how true they were to Asimov. I enjoy reading the story, but will have to wait on any judgment. I may never because I enjoy the overall story so much.
