My wife bought tickets to the Death Cab for Cutie concert at Thanksgiving Point on Memorial Day. We went prepared for rain and cold. It sprinkled on us a bit while we were in line waiting to get in, but ended up not raining during the concert. The gates opened almost 2 hours late because the rain made it so they couldn't setup the stage in time. Because of that, one of the bands was canceled. I guess the park is not in a zone where they can have concerts go after 10 PM.
The concert was awesome! We had purchased their new album off iTunes on Saturday and I am really enjoying it. Their sound is very fresh and recognizable. I also appreciated the way the band plays on stage. They weren't always facing the croud. It was like they were playing at home in their garage. Obviously this didn't happen when there was singing, but when it was just instumental. It made it so that each member of the band was important to watch and not just the singer.
The opening band was Tegan and Sara, a sister duo band that was interesting. During most of their performance I couldn't really understand what they were saying as we were on the ground and really only hearing the bass. We stood up for the last few songs and they were ok.
